Description
1 Main Street in Doune dates from around 1840 and is a two-storey building with an attic. It features four windows and is constructed of ashlar stone, complete with a plinth, cill, and eaves course. The entrance has an architraved doorcase on the canted bay that forms number 8, and there is a pilastered doorpiece in the east bay. The original shop front is still intact. On the first floor, there are three windows, and the roof has two bowed dormers. The building is topped with a slate roof and has corniced stacks.
