Description

Scottish Churches House, located on Kirk Street in Dunblane, consists of a central section built in the mid to late 18th century, with possible later additions. It underwent refurbishment in 1960 and is one of three components that make up Scottish Churches House, alongside the Entrance House and South Terrace. The central section features a pair of two-storey, three-bay terraced houses constructed in two separate stages, with the northern house altered and reconstructed in the mid-19th century. Both houses were converted into a residential conference centre, with internal walls removed to create linking passageways during the 1960 refurbishment.

The exterior is harled with stone dressings, showcasing architraved windows on the principal (west) elevation of the northern cottage. The gables are coped with raised sections at the center and brackets at the eaves. The west elevation displays regular fenestration on the former house to the right, with a window in each bay on both floors, while the former cottage to the left has irregular fenestration. The east elevation features irregular fenestration on the former house to the left, where some windows have been inserted or altered, and the former house to the right has a lean-to extension with a catslide roof.

The principal (west) elevation primarily includes 12-pane timber sash and case windows, and the roofs are covered with grey slate. The southern cottage is missing its stacks, while the northern cottage has harled coped stacks at both ends, although the cans are missing. There is a tall later stack above the eaves on the east side of the northern cottage, featuring a round can.

Inside, the building has been modernized, with a connecting passageway inserted running north to south.
