Description
Blackburn Mill is a disused water mill dating to 1832. The building retains its original machinery, including an internal overshot water wheel, although the hoppers have been removed. It is constructed of limewashed stonework with slate ridges. The plan is T-shaped, and a roofless square projection is visible at the side. The initials “J W” appear on the millhouse. The mill was formerly known as Weir’s Mill.
