Bank, 8 Abbeygreen, Lesmahagow

This is a mid-19th century bank building, likely originally constructed for that purpose. The building is designed in an Italianate style and features a deep, slate roof. A prominent feature is the use of rusticated yellow ashlar with brick-sized dressings. It is two storeys high with three bays, and the central bay is distinguished by a doorcase, which may be a later addition. The windows are sash windows, and there are end stacks. The flanks of the building also have three bays, and a cash dispenser is set into the south flank. A rear wing extends from the main building. A boundary wall runs along the street frontage, punctuated by two pairs of square gate piers.
