33 Quarry Street, Hamilton

33 Quarry Street in Hamilton is a late 19th-century, three-storey tenement building featuring shops on the ground floor. The building has a rectangular plan and is constructed of red ashlar with a snecked cream rubble gable facing Regent Way, while the Quarry Street side is finished in brick and topped with a slate roof.

The ground floor has a modern shopfront but retains an original cornice. Above this, there is a lintel course at the first floor and a cill course at the second floor, creating a plain frieze that includes decorative panels at the canted windows. The building also features a moulded wallhead course and cornice, with pilaster strips at the angles and canted windows that end in ball-finialled pedestals, although some finials have been removed. The windows are architraved single and cross types, with plate glass sash and case frames, and there are corniced end stacks, one of which has been cut down.

On the Quarry Street elevation, there is a four-light canted window on the first and second floors to the right, accompanied by a balustraded parapet. To the left, there is a cross window on the first floor, two windows on the second floor, and another four-light canted window at the angle with a balustraded and aediculed parapet.

The Regent Way elevation features a cross window on the first floor, two windows on the second floor, and a corniced wallhead stack.

The interior of the ground floor is modern, while the upper floors have not been seen.
