Description
Breezehill, located at 4 Coulter Road in Biggar, is a picturesque villa likely built in the 1830s or 1840s, possibly incorporating an existing house. It is set high above the main road and features a single storey with a raised basement and an attic. The exterior is constructed of whin rubble, accented with contrasting long-and-short worked yellow ashlar dressings. The timber-mullioned and transomed windows retain their original small-paned glazing.
The main southeast elevation has three bays and includes a shallow advanced wide gable on the left, which is bowed at the ground level and features a cast-iron balustrade above. The inner doorway is approached by steps and has a recessed door with a fanlight. To the right, there is a stone wallhead dormer. The building is topped with a parapet, has shaped and finialed skews, and features end stacks, all covered by slate roofs.
