Description
51 High Street in Ayr is an early 19th-century, three-storey, three-bay shop featuring modern fittings on the ground floor. The exterior is finished in polished beige ashlar and includes a band course, cornice, and a die on the left side only. The first-floor windows have cornices, while the second-floor windows are framed with moulded surrounds.
The entrance elevation has a glazed modern door to the shop on the right, a shop window in the center, and a rusticated entrance with a keystone on the left. The first and second floors have regular window arrangements.
The first and second floors are fitted with plate glass timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and features stone skews.
The interior was not seen in 1998.
