Description

Early 19th century. 3-storey, 2-bay near rectangular-plan tenement with modern ground floor shop. Painted ashlar to High Street elevation, painted harl to Hope Street elevation. Cill courses at 1st and 2nd floors; cornice; blocking course. Painted window margins at 1st and 2nd floors.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central entrance to shop at ground floor; glazed timber door; letterbox fanlight; flanking shop windows. Regular fenestration at 1st and 2nd floors.

W (HOPE STREET) ELEVATION: blind canted section turning corner to outer left. Modern timber pedimented doorpiece at centre; single timber door; narrow letterbox fanlight; 2 windows to each floor (irregularly disposed and sized).

12-pane timber sash and case windows to 1st and 2nd floors of High Street and Hope Street elevations (2 smaller additional modern windows to Hope Street). Grey slate roof. Lamp fitting to right of 1st floor window to outer right, above High Street sign.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
