Description

Late 18th century. 3-storey and attic, 4-bay near square-plan tenement with modern ground floor shop. Painted harl. Wide shallow band course between 1st and 2nd floors; eaves course; cornice; blocking course. Strip quoins to E elevation and N elevation (right side only). Painted margins to windows at upper floors.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central entrance to ground floor shop; 2-leaf glazed timber door; flanking shop windows; regular fenestration at 1st and 2nd floors; piended dormers to outer left and right at attic.

N (SIDE) ELEVATION: 3-bay. Slim twin-columned Roman Doric corniced doorpiece to right of modern shopfront; timber door; decorative letterbox fanlight. Regular fenestration at 1st and 2nd floors. 2 smaller attic windows to gablehead.

6-pane to upper sashes, plate glass to lower sashes at 1st and 2nd floors; 6-pane to attic windows to N elevation; 4- and 12-pane to dormers to E elevation. Grey slate roof; stone skews; scrolled skewputts; gablehead stacks; polygonal cans to N only.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
