21 Park Circus, Ayr

21 Park Circus in Ayr is a pair of 2-storey, 4-bay houses built in the later 19th century, forming the end of a terrace. The houses are constructed from coursed sandstone, with the advanced sections featuring channelled detailing. They have a base course and pedimented outer bays that are set forward.

The south elevation, which is the entrance side, has a central door with a segmental arch and an architrave. The timber doors have letterbox fanlights above them. There are two single architraved windows aligned above on the first floor, and the advanced outer bays feature regular tripartite fenestration on both floors, with single windows on the sides. The first floor has a continuous elaborate scroll-work iron balcony supported by consoled brackets between the advanced bays.

The east and north elevations were not seen in 1999, and the west elevation is obscured by the adjoining terrace. The windows are plate glass timber sash and case types. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring stone skews, coped gablehead stacks, and corniced square-plan chimney cans. The property has cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interiors were not seen in 1999. The site is enclosed by stone square-plan gatepiers at No 21 and iron gatepiers at No 23, with iron gates and railings, and a low coped boundary wall.
