Description

Earlier 19th century. Symmetrical 2-storey, 3-bay plain classical house on corner site. Painted render; raised, painted dressings. Base course; lintel course beneath corniced eaves. Raised long and short quoins and surrounds to openings to South Beach; raised margins to Academy Street; projecting cills; pilastered doorpiece.

SW (SOUTH BEACH) ELEVATION: part-glazed replacement timber door centred at ground; surrounding doorpiece comprising flanking pilasters, plain frieze, cornice, block pediment, raised keystone; single window aligned at 1st floor. Single windows at both floors in bays to outer left and right.

NW (ACADEMY STREET) ELEVATION: boarded timber door at ground off-set to left of centre; single windows at both floors in flanking bays. Small single window at 1st floor off-set to right of centre; single windows at both floors in bay to outer right.

Predominantly 12-pane timber sash and case glazing; some replacement glazing to Academy Street; various skylights. Graded grey slate piended roof; replacement rainwater goods. Coped, rendered wallhead stacks; circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.
