Description

2-4 Market Place in Selkirk is a three-storey, three-bay tenement building dating from around 1800, with later alterations and additions. It is part of a terrace and is situated on a slope that falls to the southwest. The building features painted render with painted ashlar dressings and strip pilasters.

On the southeast elevation, there are regularly spaced windows on the first and second floors. A panelled door is located to the left of the centre on the ground floor, with a modern stair and tenement door to the outer left. To the right on the ground floor, there is a square 19th-century shop window.

The northwest elevation was not visible in 1995. The building has modern timber pivot four-pane windows and a purple slated roof, with a harled stack on the right. The interior was also not seen in 1995.
