Halterburn

Halterburn is a mid-19th century building that has undergone later alterations. It consists of a pair of two-storey houses with three and four bays, featuring lean-to additions at the rear. The exterior is harled and painted.

The entrance elevation shows a three-bay house on the left, which has an advanced full-height gabled entrance bay. This bay includes a doorway with a boarded door and a letterbox fanlight, along with windows on the first floor above and on the left and right sides. The flanking bays have bipartite windows with single windows above on the first floor. The four-bay house on the right has a doorway in the penultimate bay, also with a boarded door and letterbox fanlight, and a single window above on the first floor. The remaining bays contain single windows on both floors.

On the rear elevation, there are lean-to additions for both houses, with an irregular arrangement of first-floor windows. The south elevation features a large flat-roofed timber and glass addition at ground level, with a single window above on the first floor. The north elevation is a blank gable.

The windows are plate glass sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slate and has coped, harled ridge and gablehead stacks. Additionally, there is a drystone boundary wall that divides the properties and fronts the road.
