Description
77 Castlegate in Jedburgh is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay end of terrace house with a harled exterior and painted ashlar margins. The bays are closely grouped and slightly off-centre to the right. The central door features a letterbox fanlight above it, while the first-floor windows are positioned under the eaves. The gable end is blank, with a brick gablehead stack topped by a single octagonal chimney can. The rear elevation is irregular with three bays and painted brick margins, including an additional door at ground level and large stair windows on the first floor.
The house has timber plate glass sash and case windows and is topped with grey slate roofing. The elevations are marked by noticeable cast-iron drains and downpipes.
