Beadles Cottage, Linton

Beadles Cottage in Linton dates from around 1865 and has undergone some alterations since its construction. This single-storey cottage features a basement and has a gabled design with three bays, with the central bay slightly advanced. It is situated on a sloping site and is finished in painted harl with droved cream sandstone dressings. The cottage has overhanging timber bracketed eaves, sandstone strip quoins, sandstone margins, and projecting cills.

On the north elevation, the central gabled bay is advanced and includes a pentice porch above a boarded timber door. There are single windows in the outer bays, which are recessed to the left and right, with skylights aligned above them. The south elevation features a single window at ground level, offset to the left of center, along with single windows in the outer bays and skylights above. The west side elevation has a basement door located in the outer right bay.

The windows predominantly have 8-pane glazing in timber sash and case style, although some modern glazing is present at the rear. The cottage has a graded grey slate roof and some cast-iron rainwater goods. A brick-built ridge stack is located at the center, featuring circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1997.
