The Ship Hotel, Harbour Road, Eyemouth

The Ship Hotel, located on Harbour Road in Eyemouth, is a building that dates back to the earlier 18th century. It features a two-bay, two-storey structure with an attic and a gable facing east. The roof has curvilinear skews with scrolled skewputts. While the glazing on the ground and first floors has been renewed, the original 12-pane double sash window remains in the central round-headed attic window. The rectangular stack at the gable head has been partly rebuilt in brick, and the building is harled with a slated roof.

Attached to the north and set back is an earlier 19th-century block. The east front of this block is two storeys high and has four bays, featuring three straight skewed gables. The outer gables have rectangular stacks at their heads. The left gable has a cant-entry at the ground level with a segmentally arched head and a projecting keyblock, although this has been blocked as a window. The entrance door, located in the right centre bay, has a bracketed hood and is complemented by rendered ashlar angle margins and rendered and painted window margins.
