The Whale Hotel, Harbour Road, Old Quay, Eyemouth

The Whale Hotel, located on Harbour Road in Old Quay, Eyemouth, is a building dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is two storeys high with an attic and features a harled exterior with rendered margins. The structure consists of at least three previously separate properties. The main section is a two-bay house with a chimney head gable at the center and a slated roof. To the south, there is a two-bay wing with a pantiled roof that has a segmental-headed former pend at the ground floor, which has been infilled with a modern door. The northern wing has two bays at the ground floor and a single window on the first floor, along with a gabled dormer in the attic. This wing incorporates the large south gable of its demolished northern neighbor.
