Description

This is an early 19th century barn and stable range, with later additions and alterations, potentially incorporating earlier fabric.

The stable range is a single-story, five-bay rubble stone building. The left side features three stable bays with single windows flanking a door and roof ventilator. To the right is a further door and window, along with a chimney stack. It has a piended roof covered in grey slates. A later garage bay has been added to the rear, with a cat-slide roof.

A single-story rubble stone garage has been altered from an earlier form and features a pair of boarded, two-leaf garage doors. The roof is gabled, with pyramidal skewputts to the north, covered in grey slates. The north gable includes a blocked archway and a blocked pointed arch in the gablehead, suggesting the former presence of a dovecot. Open implement sheds are adjoined to the south, with a corrugated-iron roof.

There are single-story, L-shaped rubble cottages, with the north range harled. The north range has three bays, with a door to the left side. The rear of the north range has two large windows to the right and two smaller windows to the left, along with a further door in the end elevation. The south range consists of six irregular bays, arranged with a door, a louvred opening, a door, a window, a window, and a door from left to right. Its rear elevation features five windows and a door to the inner right. Both ranges have piended roofs covered in grey slates, and brick stacks.

To the west is a broad, low barn with an entrance to the hay loft from an embankment at the rear. It has a piended roof covered in grey slates.

The barn, stable range, cottages and garage are part of a group of buildings with Bonjedward House, Walled Garden and Lodge, which are listed separately.
