Description

This is an early 19th century garage complex, with later additions and alterations, and possibly incorporating earlier fabric. The stable is a single-storey, five-bay rubble building. Three bays originally housed stables, with single windows flanking a door and a roof ventilator. A further door and window are located to the right, accompanied by a chimney stack. The roof is piended and covered in grey slates. An additional garage bay has been added to the rear, featuring a cat-slide roof.

The garage itself is a single-storey rubble structure, altered from an earlier form, and now features a pair of boarded, two-leaf garage doors. It has a gabled roof with pyramidal skewputts covered in grey slates. The north gable includes a blocked archway and a blocked pointed arch in the gablehead, potentially indicating a former dovecot. Open implement sheds are adjoined to the south, with a corrugated-iron roof.

Two single-storey, L-plan rubble cottages stand nearby, with the north range harled. The north range has three bays and a door to the left. The rear of the north range has two large windows to the right and two smaller windows to the left, alongside a further door in the end elevation. The south range comprises six irregular bays, arranged as a door, a louvred opening, a door, a window, another window, and then a final door. The rear elevation of the south range has five windows and a door to the inner right. Both ranges have piended roofs covered in grey slates, with brick stacks.

To the west is a broad, low barn with a piended roof of grey slates. An entrance to the hayloft is accessible from an embankment to the rear.

The complex forms a group with Bonjedward House, the Walled Garden, and the Lodge, which are listed separately. These buildings were depicted on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey.
