Circa 1830, four bay, two house block, painted polished ashlar, originally with tuscan pilastrade at ground floor, containing shops to either side of a central door; shopfrontsurvives at no. 38 though partly obscured by modern fascia, centre door with fanlight, modern shopfront at no. 40. First floor windows.
