Description

5 and 6 Bowmont Street in Kelso is an earlier 19th century building that consists of a four-bay, three-storey block of two houses with shops on the ground floor. The building features giant order pilasters at both ends and in the center, which are rusticated at the ground floor level. The house doors are located in the center, while the shops have been altered. The upper floors are rendered and lined to resemble ashlar stone. Numbers 3 and 4 have had their band-courses and the right-hand pilaster dressed back. The building has a mutilated cornice and a blocking-course, topped by a piended slated roof with brick stacks.
