Description

Circa 1865. 2-storey, 3-bay, symmetrical cross-plan house. Stugged squared and snecked cream sandstone. Chamfered arrises; 1st floor windows breaking eaves in gabled dormerheads; exposed rafters and overhanging eaves.

N (FRONT) ELEVATION: projecting gabled central bay with deep-set panelled door and letterbox fanlight; scrolled strapwork brackets support balustraded balconette above; window at 1st floor. Octagonal apex stack. Blank returns with corbel course at 1st floor. Flanking bays with timber-mullioned bipartite windows to each floor; finials at gableheads.

E AND W ELEVATIONS: blank gables to N; windows to set back bay to S.

S ELEVATION: projecting 2-bay gable at centre; windows to flanking bays.

Timber sash and case windows; 10-lying-pane glazing. Grey slates; bargeboards. Apex stacks; ashlar to front, brick to sides (rebuilt in red brick to W).

BOUNDARY WALL, RAILINGS AND GATEPIERS: central pair of obelisk gatepiers with wrought-iron gates; low boundary wall with saddleback ashlar coping to left.
