Description
St Albans at 11 Clouds in Duns is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house designed in a T-plan. It is constructed from coursed cream sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings.
The south elevation is symmetrical with three bays. The central entrance features a panelled door topped by a rectangular fanlight and a consoled cornice, with windows above and on either side. To the right, there is a single-storey link that is set back.
The west elevation has a gabled design, with windows positioned to the left on the ground floor and to the right on the first floor.
The north elevation includes a lower two-storey projecting gabled bay at the centre, which has a window on the ground floor and rebuilt brick return walls. There are windows in the flanking bays, but a single-storey boundary wall aligned with the gable end obscures the ground floor.
The east elevation features a blank gable end with a projecting single-storey pitched-roof link at ground level.
The house has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, ashlar coped skews, brick stacks, and a roof covered with grey slates.
Additionally, there is a rubble boundary wall with a gate to the left of the gable and gatepiers to the right topped with pyramidal caps. A garage with a pitched roof is located to the right.
