84, 86 High Street, Peebles

84 and 86 High Street in Peebles is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey and attic, three-bay terraced house that has undergone later alterations. The exterior features coursed stugged cream ashlar sandstone with polished dressings. The ground floor has four bays, with painted polished ashlar and applied decoration, including a base course and cornice. The left side contains a three-bay cafe with a central two-leaf panelled door, flanked by plate glass shop windows that have two upper lights and aprons. To the right, there is a boarded door with a plate glass fanlight providing access to No 84. On the first floor, there are three windows beneath a cornice and a raised blocking course, which is interrupted by three gable-headed ashlar dormers. The windows are four-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with purple-grey slates, featuring ashlar coped-skews, with the left side leaded, and coped ashlar apex stacks. The interior was not seen in 1994.
