Description
64 High Street in Peebles is a two-storey, five-bay tenement building dating from the earlier to mid-19th century. The structure features shops on the ground floor, with pend entrances on either side. It is constructed from coursed whinstone rubble that has been painted, with painted ashlar margins. The building has raised margins and quoins, and the shopfront is divided by shallow pilasters, topped with a corniced fascia.
On the front elevation, there are pend openings at both the outer right and left sides, while the central area showcases a five-bay shopfront with a doorway located to the right of the center. The first floor has regular fenestration.
At the rear, there is a large brick addition. The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case style, and the roof is covered with green slate, featuring mutual stacks.
The interior was not seen during the last assessment in 1994.
