Description

Sydney Mitchell and Wilson, 1898. Pale pink granite monument to poet, John Veitch. Square pedestal with cast bronze portrait profile of Veitch to 1 face, supports bulbous column with acanthus leaves at base and Roman Doric capital; decorated with copper garlands and cherubs and surmounted by bronze lion rampant holding shield with Town crest. Marble base with rounded angles and grey granite panels.
