Description
Late 18th/early 19th century with later alterations. 2-storey and attic terrace comprising one single-fronted and one double fronted cottage and a slightly later 3-bay cottage. Harled with painted stone dressing to principal (N) elevation. Vertical margins to arrises of principal elevation of original terrace (E side). E gable end coped and N pitch of W end of original block.
N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: original terrace to left; No 24 is double-fronted with central entrance (panelled timber door with shallow rectangular fanlight) and flanking windows to each floor; No 22 is single fronted with entrance to left (replacement timber door) and window above to left; window to ground and 1st floors to right. No 20 (to right) has entrance to left (part-glazed replacement door); window above to left; window to ground and 1st floors to 2 bays to right.
S ELEVATION: small single storey lean-to addition to No 24; inserted window to centre of 1st floor. 1st floor windows to No 22 at higher level than those to No 24; alteration to right of ground floor comprises entrance with adjoining window; inserted gabled dormer to left of attic. No 20 set back slightly with gabled wing to left.
E ELEVATION: small attic window to gable end of No 24.
Mainly 2-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roofs. Harled gablehead stacks at either end of original block; harled ridge stack to E of No 20 and harled gablehead stack to rear wing; round cans.
INTERIORS: not inspected (1998).
