Description
Eildon Hall's East Lodge, built in the late 19th century, is a single-storey and attic structure featuring three bays and gabled roofs with bracketed overhanging eaves. The lodge is constructed from squared and snecked red sandstone rubble, accented with pale ashlar dressings that include roll-moulded detailing and raised stone cills. At the center, there is a pale sandstone gabled ashlar entrance porch with a roll-moulded doorway and shouldered corners, which leads to a timber frame with arris. The entrance is completed with a timber panelled door.
The windows are predominantly timber sash and case, fitted with plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slate and features a short ridge ashlar stack and clay cans. The rainwater goods are made of cast iron.
The gatepiers consist of a pair of substantial octagonal piers with a base and moulded octagonal caps. To the south, there is a smaller square-plan pier with a pyramidal cap that provides a pedestrian entrance. The heavy timber gates were added around the year 2000.
