Description

2 Edington Mill Cottages is a pair of semi-detached cottages built in the earlier to mid 19th century, with later alterations. They are symmetrical, two stories high, and consist of four bays, creating an eight-bay range that steps up the hill. Each cottage features a two-windowed, gabled porch that projects at the ground level, with a doorway located on the right side. The first-floor windows are set in gables that break the eaves. The exterior is constructed from tooled cream sandstone rubble, accented with droved sandstone quoins and surrounds around the openings, and includes projecting cills and timber bargeboards.

The cottages predominantly feature 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there are regularly spaced, shouldered and corniced, brick-built stacks topped with circular clay cans. The cottages also have cast-iron rainwater goods. The interior was not seen in 1998.
