Description
The quadrant walls, gatepiers, and gates at East Lodge, Hutton Castle, date from the early 20th century. They feature low, coped sandstone walls that flank the entrance to Hutton Castle. The gatepiers are square in plan, made of channelled pink sandstone ashlar, and are topped with carved stone Berwickshire bears that hold escutcheons. The entrance is completed by a pair of decorative iron gates that are swept in design.
