6 High Road, Castlehead, Paisley

6 High Road in Castlehead, Paisley is a later 19th-century house that has undergone some alterations. It is a two-storey building with a basement and attic, featuring a symmetrical three-bay design. The front is made of ashlar stone, with a stugged finish at the basement and angle margins, while the sides and rear are constructed from rubble with ashlar dressings.

The front elevation includes a band course above the basement, a pilastered and corniced doorpiece, and windows with moulded architraves, all of which are two-pane sash windows. The eaves have a cornice, and the roof is slate-covered with saw-tooth skews, moulded skewputts, and corniced end stacks. The rear and sides are simpler, with two doors leading to the basement at the back and mainly four-pane glazing. There is also a later canted dormer at the rear that is slate-hung, along with a small single-storey projection. A modern fore stair on the north gable leads to the first floor, and there are good cast-iron railings surrounding the basement area.
