Description
60 Oakshaw Street is an early 19th century house with later additions, featuring a three-bay design and wings. The south front has two storeys over a basement, with a single-storey wing to the west. It is constructed of ashlar stone and has a band course above the basement. The entrance consists of a double-leaf panelled door flanked by Corinthian engaged columns, topped with an entablature and block. The façade includes sash windows with altered glazing, an eaves band, and a cornice with a blocking course raised over the centre bay. The roof is slate, with stacks at the ends.
On the south elevation, the house is three storeys high and symmetrical, with a three-bay centre and a single-storey wing to the east and a two-storey wing to the west, all in ashlar. The three windows of the centre block are slightly set forward and have pediments. The doorpiece is pilastered and corniced, with 12-pane glazing in the centre block. The west wing features a two-storey canted window with lying-pane glazing. There is an eaves cornice with a blocking course on the west wing.
The property includes simple railings around the area and steps leading to the south door. There is also a Gothic garden pavilion, which is two storeys high and square, built of rubble with ashlar margins. It features pointed windows and doors on each floor, with the upper floor accessed from a terrace. The pavilion is currently roofless.
