Description
53-55 Oakshaw Street in Paisley is a pair of early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay houses, with the added feature of an attic in number 51. The buildings are constructed from painted droved ashlar with polished dressings. There is a raised strip at the center between the houses, and they have a contrasting painted base course and cills. The doorways are pilastered and corniced, with blocks above the door of number 51 on the left and that of number 55 in the center. Number 51 has 8-pane sash windows, while number 55 features 12-pane sash windows. The houses have an eaves band and a slate roof, which includes rendered stacks and a canted and piended dormer on number 51.
