Description

Java is a former police station built around 1880. It is a neat single-storey cottage featuring two windows and a central door with a panel above it, topped by a small gablet. The building is constructed of stugged red ashlar with white sandstone dressings and has a slated roof. The listing has been re-categorised from B to C(S) in 2006, highlighting the group interest of the building. This designation applies to both the interior and exterior, as is appropriate for this type of building.
