Description

This building, located at 63A-C Main Street in Invergowrie, is a late 19th-century, two-storey former coach house or stable. It has a rectangular plan and is constructed from bull-faced snecked rubble with a grey slate roof. The exterior features single windows and large cross windows on the first floor, with chamfered reveals on the original openings. There are various new and enlarged openings, and the building has out-of-character uPVC frames throughout. The west elevation has a uPVC door, while the east elevation features out-of-character timber doors. The building has deep eaves and decorative bargeboards on the gables at the east end, along with tall stacks that have corniced parapets.

On the east elevation, there is a square-headed carriage entrance on the left, which has been blocked and replaced with a modern door and window. To the right, there is a segmental-headed carriage entrance that has also been blocked and replaced with modern glazed sliding doors, flanked by a window on the left and a lean-to on the right. A central L-plan forestair leads to a gabled entrance porch with a tripartite window on the first floor. A stack rises from the left roof pitch, with a window to the left and a large dormer-headed window at the far left.

The south gable features a modern door and window. The north gable has a full-width, pentice-roofed bay at ground floor level, with a modern window on the first floor. The west elevation includes two doors and various windows on the ground floor, with three windows on the first floor. The paired gables break through the eaves and feature large cross windows, along with a central stack.

The boundary wall consists of a round-coped rubble wall with a blocked pointed arch extending east from the north gable, and a rubble boundary wall extending south from the west elevation. The interior has not been seen.
