Description

Circa 1840; extended 1998. Single storey and attic, 3-bay former toll house in Breadalbane Estate cottage style. Chlorite-slate rubble with roughly squared quoins; harled to rear. Pointed-arch voussoired doorway. Timber transoms and mullions.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: centre bay with gabled stone porch with vertically-panelled timber door and vertically-astragalled 4-part fanlight, gabled bay to right with slate-roofed canted window at ground containing 9-light window flanked by 4-light windows (all transomed) and blocked window in gablehead. Lower bay to left of centre with transomed 4-light windows to ground and to stone dormer above.

E ELEVATION: gabled elevation with transomed 4-light window to each floor, harled wing set back to outer left..

W ELEVATION: transomed 4-light windows to ground and to stone dormer breaking eaves above.

S ELEVATION: blank gabled elevation with harled extension projecting at outer right.

Multi-pane leaded glazing pattern to casement windows. Graded grey slates. Coped ashlar octagonal shafted stacks. Overhanging eaves with decorative pierced bargeboards.

BOUNDARY WALLS: semicircular-coped rubble boundary walls.
