Prospect House, Home Street, Aberfeldy

Prospect House, located on Home Street in Aberfeldy, is a later 19th-century, two-storey and attic, three-bay, rectangular-plan gabled house designed in the Breadalbane Estate style. It features stone dormers and is constructed from squared local mica/chlorite slate rubble with lined pointing and stone cills.

The entrance elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a modern hardwood part-glazed timber door with a plate glass fanlight at the center on the ground floor. Flanking bays contain windows, and there is regular fenestration on the first floor, with three dormer windows breaking the eaves. The side elevation is adjacent to Viewfield, located at 45 Dunkeld Street, which is listed separately.

The north elevation presents a plain gabled facade, while the rear elevation features a dormer window at the center. The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass glazing. The roof is covered with graded grey slates and includes a coped ashlar stack with cans. The eaves overhang, adorned with plain bargeboarding, adds to the character of the house.

The property is enclosed by low saddleback-coped boundary walls, which are complemented by a decorative cast-iron gate.
