Trottick Cottage, The Knapp

Hayhoe Cottage, located at The Knapp, is a late 18th century building that has undergone later additions and alterations. It consists of a single-storey row of two cottages, which were likely originally four. The cottages are constructed of rubble with a slate roof and feature brick ridge and end stacks. There is a boulder base course at the eastern gable.

The windows include fixed pane and casement plate glass on Trottick Cottage, while Hayhoe Cottage has tripartite multi-pane casements. The southern elevation showcases bracketed eaves.

On the southern elevation, Trottick Cottage is to the left, with a central door and three windows on either side. There is a later piend-roofed bay with a slightly recessed window to the left. Hayhoe Cottage is to the right, featuring two windows in the centre flanked by a door and another window. The right return gable is blank.

The northern elevation has some original windows at Hayhoe Cottage on the left, and a window at Trottick Cottage on the right, which has a circa late 19th century piend-roofed timber bay that is advanced at the far right. The interior has not been seen.
