Laundry, West Woodlands

The building is a former laundry, likely built in the later 19th century, and may include some earlier materials. It is a single-storey, two-bay structure with a rectangular plan and a piend roof, located within the remnants of a small home farm next to the site of the now-demolished Woodlands House. The exterior is made of roughly squared and coursed rubble, featuring contrasting stugged red sandstone ashlar dressings. It has stone mullions and chamfered reveals.

The entrance elevation faces south and includes two boarded timber two-leaf doors, along with horizontally-aligned tripartite windows, which may have been added later, located at the east and west elevations. The windows have a three-pane glazing pattern above a larger two-pane pattern, all of which are vertically aligned and set in timber sash and case frames. The steeply pitched roof is covered with grey slates and has a small triangular roof ventilator. There are red brick stacks located at the centre ridge and on the outer left side of the west elevation.

Inside, the building has been altered and features deep raked cills.
