Description
The lodge at Ballathie Estate is a late 19th century, 2-storey building, possibly serving as a gamekeeper's lodge. It features a steeply-pitched slated roof and flat-roofed dormer windows at the wallhead, which break through timber-bracketed overhanging eaves on the northwest elevation. The lodge has tall asymmetrical chimney stacks and windows that are divided by timber mullions, with a mix of sash and case glazing patterns, including some 8-pane and some 2-pane windows. A modern timber stair at the northeast gable conceals a side entrance, and there is a modern addition to the east. At the rear, there are lower wings and a series of five single-storey gabled outbuildings that have decorative fretted bargeboards, facing southwest towards Ballathie House.
