Description
West Lodge and Gatepiers at Ballathie Estate is a single-storey gatelodge built in the late 19th century, showcasing a Tudorbethan/Arts and Crafts style. The lodge features mock timber-framed elevations set on a masonry basecourse, with dry-dash painted white in between. It has mullioned and transomed windows, which include white-painted leaded lattice casement windows. The expansive red tiled piend roof has broadly overhanging timber-bracketed eaves, tiled ridges, and a large square brick stack at the center of the ridge, adorned with decorative brick banding. There is a rear outshot, and the entrance is located at the center of the southwest elevation. The gates are low, white-painted, and designed in the Arts and Crafts style.
