Description
Parkview, located on Station Road in Birnam, was built around 1870. It consists of two stepped blocks that follow the slope of the land, featuring two storeys with dormer heads and ground floor shops. The northern block has three pairs of windows with segmentally arched heads, gabled outer dormer heads adorned with quatrefoil bargeboards, and a central swept dormer. The southern part has one pair of windows, two first floor windows with a wrought-iron balcony, a single swept dormer, and a pair of windows on a curved angle that rises into a conical turret. The building is constructed of stugged ashlar and has a slated roof. It was re-categorised in 2006 from grade B to grade C(S) due to its group interest, which includes both the interior and exterior as relevant to its building type.
