Description
Rose Bros. and Co, located at 24-30 High Street in Nairn, was built around 1870 and features a Gothic architectural style. This two-storey building with an attic has four bays and includes a shop frontage with dwellings above. The structure is made of ashlar and coursed rubble gables, accented with polished ashlar dressings.
The original ground floor showcases shop fronts and an entrance to the upper floors, which is now a window and is set under a pointed arch with nook shafts. On the first floor, there are four bipartite windows with shafted jambs and moulded lintels beneath stilted depressed arches, all connected by a moulded string course. The outer attic gables display a similar design, featuring single windows in small gabled dormerheads situated between them.
Additional decorative elements include stone finials, a short pierced stone balustrade that links the central dormers, shaped chimneys, and a slate roof.
