Description
2 and 4 County Place in Perth is an early 19th-century, three-storey building with an attic, featuring a distinctive three-bay corner design on a narrow gushet site with a trefoil plan corner bay. The structure is built of rubble with lined out render and has ashlar dressings. The ground floor has a painted shopfront with pilasters facing Hospital Street, and there are cill courses on the upper floors. A central doorway provides access to the upper levels. The roof has an unusual part-piended arrangement.
The windows predominantly feature 12-pane glazing and 6-pane over plate glass in timber sash and case style. There are also some remaining curved plan sash and case windows at the 'terrut' tipped end of the gushet. The roof is slated, with half-conical caps on the trefoil-plan corner bays, and there is a brick ridge stack from later rebuilding. The building also includes cast-iron rainwater goods.
