Description

Mid to later 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, L-plan steeply gabled house with pierced bargeboarding. Coursed squared rubble with stugged and droved dressings. Base course. Roll-moulded doorpiece. Timber transom and mullions and stop-chamfered arrises.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: broad advanced gable to left of centre with bipartite window to each floor, low gabled porch angled to SE in re-entrant angle to right with broad 2-leaf timber door and small transomed bipartite in gablehead, window to right and 2 windows above breaking eaves into dormerheads.

E ELEVATION: gabled bay to left with window to each floor, altered window to centre and further window to right at ground, 2 dormerheaded windows over.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: stepped elevation with variety of elements including projecting gable to left with single storey extension at ground and lean-to bays to centre and right.

4-, 6-pane and plate glass glazing patterns in timber sash and case and top-opening windows. Graded grey slates. Coped ashlar gablehead stacks with full-complement of polygonal cans; shouldered ashlar stack. Overhanging eaves with decorative and plain bargeboarding.

BOUNDARY WALLS, GATE AND RAILINGS: low coped rubble boundary walls with inset decorative cast-iron railings and gate.
