Description
East Gate at Moncreiffe Estate is a gateway built in the mid to later 19th century. It is located at the eastern entrance to the estate, directly opposite the bridge over the River Earn that leads to Bridge of Earn. The gateway consists of a pair of ashlar Tudor Gothic arched pedestrian entrances, which are flanked by a vehicular entrance. The structure features stepped copes, although the cope on the inner side of the northern gate is missing. Surrounding the gateway is a low, deeply crenellated boundary wall to the northwest, along with a short section of low wall to the southeast that adjoins a wall and polygonal pier on the site of the former East Lodge.
