Description
Redgorton Church is a building originally constructed in 1776 as a plain rubble rectangle featuring a simple bell-cote. A small datestone with a mason's mark is located on the south wall. The church was reconstructed from or incorporates parts of a previous kirk built around 1690. Inside, the pulpit is situated on the south wall between two large windows. The church was ceiled in 1812, and a T-plan northern addition along with galleries were added in 1841. The flat-headed windows, which have wooden Tudor mullions, likely date from this period, and the twin south windows may have pointed heads. The church was re-pointed in 1871 with some detailed alterations and has been re-furnished.
