Description

Early 19th century, remodelled in later 19th century. Irregular-plan

steading. Pink rubble sandstone with stugged grey ashlar dressings;

boarded doors to openings; grey slate roofs.

GRIEVE'S HOUSE: overhanging eaves to NW gable; 2-pane sash and case

windows; 2 coped ridge stacks and moulded cans; 1st floor windows

breaking eaves in dormers; NE (entrance) elevation largely obscured

by vegetation (1994).

CARTSHED RANGE: lies NW-SE; 6 cart-arches and pedestrian doorway; red

brick arches to all openings except stone arch to outer right; granary

above.

STABLE BLOCK: at right angle to NW of cartshed range; piended roof; sliding door with stop-chamfered bipartite windows flanking; divided door to outer right; 2 hayloft doors breaking eaves in piended roofs.

HORSE MILL: circular horse mill with conical roof; iron finial.
