Description

Montrose Mausoleum, designed by William Adam in 1736, is an ashlar structure measuring 25 feet square, with stucco applied to the north wall. It features an Ionic Venetian entrance. The mausoleum originally had a stone roof, which leaked and was subsequently replaced with a slated pyramid roof that is still in place today. The top of the roof is truncated and adorned with a sculptured urn.
