Description
House of Dun is a 2-storey building with a basement and attic, constructed from rectangular ashlar blocks. It features a south-facing front with no decorative elements, showcasing a three-window center that is raised and includes arched windows at the ground floor, along with a curved staircase. The north-facing entrance has a triumphal arch treatment in the center, flanked by fluted Ionic pilasters. The center is recessed and includes a groin vault and a Venetian doorway, with quoin angles adding to the structure's detail. Inside, there is fine plasterwork. The building was designed by William Adam Sr. in 1730. The windows have been altered, with the window sash inscribed by William Hendry, Joiner, on April 29, 1857.
